CDP Global Table

A little hidden away from the bustling energy of the Powerplant mall in Rockwell, Makati, CDP Global Table is really quite the find. Its ambiance exudes quaint and old-fashioned, drastically different from the environment that it's surrounded by. One of the many things that caught my eye is their overall aesthetic, their interior design is warm, minimalist, and, in my opinion, is reminiscent of speakeasy bars.

Their menu offers a variety of dishes from different cuisines, it takes elements from various influences like French, Spanish, Mediterranean, European, and many other countries that offer quite a bit in the culinary world we live in. This shows that it pays to step out of your comfort zone and try new things, brands, or any other experience available to us because if I weren't an avid fan of exploring new restaurants, I wouldn't have had a chance to try CDP Global Table's dishes and would have missed out on a lot.

Anyway, on to the food review!

WHAT WE ORDERED:

Grilled Chicken Tikka Wrap

There are two things to know about me, one is that I love chicken, regardless of how it's cooked, what's in it, what it's marinated in, or what it comes in, the other is that I hate mayonnaise. To find a mayonnaise-free wrap, without having to request it to be, is nothing short of a miracle to me.

That's why I loved this Chicken Tikka Wrap, of course it being mayonnaise-free, it had to get moisture somewhere and so CDP Global Table adds in a Tzatziki Sauce/Dressing. It's a sauce/dressing mainly made out of yoghurt, so if you're not into tart or tangy dishes, this might not be for you, but give it a try and see if you'll like it the same way I very much did.

Baked Oysters

I'm not really into oysters but if the people I'm with order some then I'd probably have a bite or two just so I could write something about it. I can show a little appreciation for them every now and then.

Their oysters are super fresh and sweet too. The lemon helps a lot in neutralizing the sea-taste, if there even is such a word, of the oysters, making it palatable even to people who aren't as into oysters as other people are.

CDP Bolognese

Being a Filipino, it's only natural for me to favor sweet tomato sauce pasta over the Italian version, which is, usually, a bit tartier than what we're used to. But their bolognese was the right balance of sweet and tart with just the right amount of meat incorporated into it. It's not as overwhelmingly tart as other restaurant's tomato based sauces are.

Maine Lobster Vongole

Usually, Vongoles are made only with clams and this one being made with lobster added a depth to the complexity of the dish's taste. It's a very decadent dish that aims to please the palate and the stomach.

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try their desserts..... Oh well, maybe next time.

THAT'S ALL..... HAVE A HAPPY FOOD TRIP!

BYYEEEEEE!!!!!
