Sigekiya Ramen

I've only been putting out good and yummy reviews about restaurants and their food lately, partly because, I guess, maybe I've been lucky, that there aren't really that many restaurants, which serve inedible food, and are still open to the public. But, mostly because I don't really like giving people bad reviews. Don't worry! My reviews are still totally legit and 100% unbiased. The bad ones just take time to pop up on my feed and on my blog.
This review, however, is a little bit of both. Not totally bad and not totally good either. Well, more good than bad, at least. I'll keep this short and I'll try to make it semi-sweet too so......
On to the food review!
What We Ordered:
Sigekiya Ramen - We ordered this because we thought, well, I thought, that if it was named after the restaurant itself then it would probably be their best selling product. So, a little bit of a disclaimer, I've never been to Japan and I've never had authentic Japanese Ramen before. Having said that, I don't think that ramen should be that thick. It was more like lomi to me, if you don't know what that is, if you're reading this, you can go ahead and Google it. Anyway, taste-wise it was actually tasty but their spice levels aren't as spicy as the descriptions on their menu would like to claim. There might be more levels to their ramen's spice but from what I read on their menu, I think I ate the spiciest one and wasn't fazed at all. I even added more chili powder into it.
Chicken Karaage - I'm a chicken lover. I love all types and kinds of chicken. I like it fried, baked, poached, whatever. This wasn't all that different. My only issue with the dish is how it was presented. Visual appeal is one of the most important factors to a dish, along with its aroma and taste. I would have wanted it to have had a more happier look to it, if that even makes sense. Sometimes I say stuff that don't really make sense, so don't mind me. I'm just saying that I wanted the dish to look a little happier so that I'd be happy to it eat.
Gyoza - Okay, like I said, I've never been to Japan before and maybe they like simplicity there and they would like to focus on the taste of the dish itself rather than make a huge deal about the food's plating. But, a little garnish here and there wouldn't hurt, would it. But, the dish itself was delicious. The back side of the gyoza was crispy, as it should be, unlike in some other restaurants, namely.... I'm kidding..... I'm not a hater...... Well, online, that is.
Like I said short and semi-sweet!
THAT'S ALL..... HAVE A HAPPY FOOD TRIP!
BYYEEEEEE!!!!!
