The Dessert Kitchen

I'm all for trying new things, especially if it's anything related to food. However, I'm going to be honest and say that I already had my doubts and already predicted how I was going to react to The Dessert Kitchen's most popular dishes. I'm sure they have other desserts and dishes, which I didn't get to try, that are delicious and maybe even worth going back for , but I'd rather not. I may go there, once or twice more, but maybe not in the near future.

It may or may not be a new trend in the food industry, but these raindrop cakes don't really do anything for me. Plus, I don't understand the reasoning behind it being called a cake. Last time I checked, these things were called gelatin or, if you want to be boujee about it, gelée. I do get that there may be something different with how they prepare it or it may be difficult to make but I don't appreciate them calling it a cake when it doesn't satisfy my palate or my stomach like a cake does.

Back to my psychic abilities. I actually predicted it to be a not so special food experience and I was right! (I should sideline as a palm reader during the weekends! No?)

Here's why I was right...

WHAT WE ORDERED:

Sakura Raindrop Cake: I'm not entirely sure but these are probably Cherry Blossom flavored. (<---- Insert dramatic pause.) I'm not going to bash the dish too much because I know how it feels for someone to judge my cooking and it doesn't feel great, especially if the comments aren't too pleasant. I did not appreciate the flowery taste of the "cake", nor did I appreciate its texture. If you were there, you would have seen my face go through a multitude of expressions, none of them good. However, I may be over reacting.... Try it!

Kanten Ramen Type Dessert: It was a blue-ish ramen-like gelatin dessert with fruits. There was something familiar with how it tasted but I couldn't really point my finger on it. It still wasn't the best thing that I've ever had, but it was better than the Sakura Raindrop Cake. The fruits were sweet and fresh though.... So that's something.

For their price range, I wouldn't say that it's worth it but I would still want you to try it for yourself. Maybe I am over reacting and they're a really great dessert restaurant.

THAT'S ALL..... BYE!!!!

HAVE A HAPPY FOOD TRIP!!!!! :)
