Merlion's Cuisine

You know how sometimes you enter a certain place, in this case, a restaurant, and smell something and associate that scent with it forever? Going into Merlion's Cuisine will surely be one of those times. It isn't unpleasant, well maybe, for some, it is, but it just takes a little getting used to. Thinking about it, maybe it has something to do with how cramped the space is and how they lack ventilation but it's definitely something to remember them by.
Their wait staff weren't as efficient as we thought they should have been but, given that they were only in the early stages of opening, we let that go and decided to relax and enjoy our meal without fuss. Having said that, again, due to them being in the early stages of opening, they were still playing around and testing out their menu, adding and removing dishes from time to time, which, I understand, makes the situation a bit more difficult for the servers to be well-versed with what they're serving.
Let's get on to the important part....
WHAT WE ORDERED:
Roti Prata - I don't know if they make their own Roti or if they outsource it from somewhere but it's definitely delicious.
Curry Chicken - Being in the Philippines, having Chicken Curry is nothing special but, because we were in a Singaporean restaurant, we decided to try their version of the dish. It tasted super legit and paired quite nicely with the Roti Prata. The chicken in it was moist and juicy but not undercooked, which is rare, for a semi-fastfood restaurant. However, my thing is, is that they didn't bother to portion out the whole chicken leg that was in it, which made it difficult for us to portion it amongst ourselves.
Sometype of Fried Rice - I forget what it was called but I didn't quite like it. Not because it wasn't tasty, because, it was. There just wasn't anything special about it. However, I do feel that, my being partly Chinese influenced my opinion on this, and I'm, at least, being honest.
Fried Tofu - Okay! I don't think they called it Fried Tofu in their menu but, like I said, they change and add on to their menu constantly, so I don't quite remember what it was actually called, but this is the picture that I've used for this review so just show them the picture and ask them what it is and if they're still serving it. They're really tasty! Plus there's a whole process of eating it, which the server will demonstrate to you, so there's also some form of entertainment factor to this dish.
Sorry for not posting in soooooooo long!!!! I'll try to do better and post reviews on time!!!!! Well, I know I don't have a schedule or anything but I promise to try to post, at least, one review per week for this year.
THAT'S ALL..... HAVE A HAPPY FOOD TRIP!!!!! :)
BYEEEEE!!!!!!!
