La Vie Parisienne

La Vie Parisienne is one of those restaurants you'd have to hunt down and really work to look for. It's not exactly a secret to anyone, but it is, somewhat, difficult to find especially if your not familiar with the streets of Makati. From the outside, you wouldn't expect it to be a place you could stay a few hours in to wine and dine with your friends or your family, you wouldn't even expect it to be a restaurant at all. But as you enter the door, because you can't enter a window, the ambience is totally different, it suddenly becomes an oasis in the midst of a bustling city.
In terms of food, they don't have much variety, they have roasted chicken, rib eye steaks, sandwiches, salads, & pizzas. But they may offer you items that are off menu when they have newly delivered produce. For the beverages, they have fresh juices, a few different types of coffee, & racks of wine to choose from.
When my friends and I went there, we had the chance to taste their duck salad, their shawarma salad, their 4 cheese pizza, their roasted chicken, and paired it with a bottle of red wine.
(I KNOW! RED WINE & CHICKEN! & I'M A FOOD BLOGGER! I KNOW IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHITE! DON'T JUDGE ME!)
Anyway, if you're done judging, which you only did after I pointed out the problem, here's what my opinions are on what we ate....
Duck Salad: The duck was moist & the greens were crisp and fresh.
Shawarma Salad: It actually tasted like Shawarma.
4 Cheese Pizza: Was actually quite good but has to be eaten when hot. (Don't allow it to cool! DON'T!)
Roasted Chicken: The chicken was moist and the herbs were flavorful, however, it was a little on the salty side. A little rice would have helped that dish.... (This suggestion may be due to my being a Filipino.... Any form of starch/carb would be fine.)
AND
MOST IMPORTANTLY!!!
They don't over-charge for their alcohol! You could actually get a bottle of wine at a decent price and be able to enjoy a late brunch with your friends and not worry too much about the bill.
Review's over.... Thanks! Bye!
Have a happy food trip!
