High Street Café at Shangri-La Fort

The High Street Café is one of, the newly opened, Shangri-La Fort's outlets. I, personally, before this visit, have not been inside or anywhere near their lobby and so everything to me was something to take note of. Normally, when I go to hotels to dine, which isn't often (Because.... Check my wallet), I go directly to their outlet, I dine, and then I leave but I think if it were even my second or third time there, I would still be impressed by their lobby, which is grandiose yet simple and classic at the same time. Anyway, that doesn't really have anything to do with food... I just wanted to share my thoughts and observations during my visit.

On with the food... For more or less than 1,200 pesos, more or less because I can't remember, but "I'm sure" it's somewhere near that number, you'd be able to have a very satisfying food experience.

During breakfast time (I don't know if they have a different set up for lunch & dinner) they have:

Cereal & Yogurt Station: Where you can make your own parfaits. Although they have pre-made ones in their dessert station.

Salad Station: They actually have a very extensive variety of greens and dressings.

Charcuterie & Fromage Station: It may just be called the Cheese & Cold Cuts Station but anything French sounds better, right? Anyway, the choices that they have for their cheese & cold cuts, obviously, isn't as extensive as the choices offered in Sofitel but the classics are there. If you have Brie then you don't have anything to worry about! After all, she is the Queen of Cheeses.

Sushi/Juice Station: I don't know why they're together, they just are. But they have a variety of fresh fruits, which you could, probably, choose from to make your own freshly-pressed juice. However they do make their own blends with both vegetables & fruits. They also offer vegan sushi rolls, for people who are vegan. (OBVIOUSLY!)

Ramen Station: Which is the picture above, is not really called the ramen station, I think, but you do have the option to choose your noodles and you could ask the chef there to make you laksa, ramen, or any other dish that involves noodles.

Continental Breakfast Station: Okay, you know I'm making these names up right? Anyway, that's where you get your eggs!

Sausage & Bacon, All Things Meat Grilling Station Station: This is where you get freshly-made artery blockers, which are also known as Bacon.

Chinese Station: This is where you can get your Dim Sum and your stir-fry dishes. I don't know why but there was a confusing moment when I asked the chef what one dish, which I honestly thought was a Radish Cake, was and then it turned out to be something sweet and sticky like Tikoy. But I don't know....

Dessert Station: Their dessert station has everything from donuts, to pancakes, to taho. They have their home-made ice cream. There was one which was called Tinutong na Bigas or Tutong na Bigas... Basta synonym ng sunog (Burnt Rice Grains), which we thought was interesting, so we tried it and, true enough, it did taste like burnt rice grains. They also have other interesting flavors like Mangga't Suman, which, when translated into English, is Mangoes & Steamed Glutinous Rice.

This has been a very long review but I hope you try and enjoy this food experience like I did! :)
