Overall Summary at the Bottom of the Page for people who do not want to read a VERY LONG review. :)

Balay Dako is one of the newer restaurants that can be found in Tagaytay, Manila and is also under the Antonio's Group of Restaurants. Based on my research, and yes, sometimes, when I feel like it, I do research on my food reviews to seem legit, I found that Balay Dako in Negrense, which I've found is a dialect spoken by the people of Negros, means, "Big House". I KNOW!!!! I'm boring you with these facts but I'm trying to be professional here!!!!! But.......... I'm not.... So on with the important stuff.....

Okay, I know some people are going to say that, because I haven't tried their best seller, which is the Sizzling Bulalo na Baka ( I asked!!!! I think that counts for something!!!!), that I'm not going to be able to properly review the restaurant and you're probably right. I'm never going to say that what I write is what you should feel or even how you should react to whatever your food experience has been or would be like, but I'm writing based on my experience and everyone else can suck it.

Honestly, the only reason why we were not able to order the best seller, aside from my having an, unbelievably painful, episode of my jaw locking, is because the waiter said that the Sizzling Bulalo caters to 6 or more people and, though I know I may look like it at times, I'm not capable of eating that much with only one person joining me. Otherwise, I would have enjoyed my experience a whole lot more.

We did however, tried their, Piniritong Sugpo at Sarsa ng Itlog na Pula (Fried Prawns and Salted-Egg Sauce), which, honestly, for me was only okay and this is because, in my opinion, it lacked the, Itlog na Pula (Salted Egg), taste. We also had the chance of trying their Ginataang Kalabasa and, although the waiter did warn me about it being mashed, I would have liked having something to chew on but its texture, to be very descriptive, could have been a very clumpy soup, judgements aside, their Ginataang Kalabasa was quite tasty, especially because they incorporated a little Bagoong(Minced Fermented Fish/Shrimp), which gave the dish a little kick.

Anyway..... This review is already way too long for anyone to be interested in reading, so I'm going to end it here. Have a happy food trip and give the restaurant a try.... You might like it better than I did and if you're not going to go then who will?

Summary (For People who do not read and do not want to read, I understand):

Best Seller: Sizzling Bulalo na Baka

What I Tried: Piniritong Sugpo at Sarsa ng Itlog na Pula & Ginataang Kalabasa

Overall Review: For the price, it could have been better. (SORRY!)
